Photos from AFCAR THE GAME & Family Fun Day Out 2013

TEAM AFRICA
AFCAR THE GAME was indeed was a wonderful event as African and Caribbean communities in the UK met up in a one-of-its-kind affair at Brentford FC, London yesterday. The big celebrity charity football match and family fun day out organised by the Sodje Sports Foundation and Jason Roberts Foundation lived up to the pre-event hype as it featured top celebrities like Jay Jay Okocha, Chucky Venn, Segun Odegbami, Maxi Priest, Sunday Oliseh and many more.

The event which started at noon featured many games for kids, the best of African and Caribbean cuisine, an Africa vs Caribbean dance off with music by Dj's Abass, Edu and Daddy Ernie, and the big football match. The game ended 1-1 at full time and Team Caribbean won the penalty shoot out!

Abstract painting sells for $43m in NY. For this painting? Say wetin??

A painting by New York abstract artist Barnett Newman sold for a record $43.8 million at Sotheby's last night. Onement Vi, a 8.5ft by 10ft dark blue canvas with Newman's distinctive 'zip' running through the centre, was painted in 1953.  It is the last of six pieces the artist created for his Onement series. Four of the oil on canvas paintings are now owned by museums.
